City Hall

The neoclassical City Hall was built in 1905 to celebrate Queen Victoria’s golden jubilee, with a clock tower a half-size replica of Big Ben in London. In 1979 the municipal government moved to a new Civic Centre on the Foreshore, and the hall is now a function venue and regularly used by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra because of its fine 3165-pipe organ. Mon-Thurs 9am-8pm; Fri 9am-6pm; Sat 9am-4pm.
