Boston Public Library Art & Architecture Tours

Did you know that America's first free municipal library doubles as a museum and a fascinating example of early 20th century architecture? The BPL's guided tours take visitors beyond the bookshelves of the 1895 McKim building to examine marble, murals, sculpture and other works by John Singer Sargent, Daniel Chester French, Pierre Puvis de Chavannes and Edwin Austin Abbey. Best yet, these tours are free. Departs Dartmouth Street lobby M 2:30 pm; Tu, Th 6 pm; W, F-Sa 11 am; Su 2 pm.
