Freedom Trail attraction. Built in 1809 in the former center of Boston, Park Street Church, with its 217-foot steeple, was one of the first structures travelers saw when approaching town. William Lloyd Garrison gave his first antislavery address here in 1829, and the hymn “America” was sung publicly for the first time. Stop in to view a short film on the church’s history and take a guided or self-guided tour. Open Tu-Sa 9:30 am-3 pm.
