3 Rosé Programs That Have Us Blushing

Where best in Boston to sip this summertime wine

In Boston, rosé wine is ripe this summer.

Bistro du Midi

Robert Sisca’s fine French restaurant Bistro du Midi presents its Summer Rosé Tour, on which sommelier Todd Lipman leads wine buffs through France's Provence region. For the entire month of August, the tour spotlights a 2013 Cotes de Provence rosé from Château Miraval, and Sisca pairs it with cod brandade beignets with pimento aioli and grilled red snapper with white peaches, arugula and lemon vinaigrette. In September, look for Cannes blush from Chateau de Rouet.

Eastern Standard Kitchen & Drinks

Known for its incredible craft cocktail program led by Jackson Cannon, Eastern Standard also features a popular summer rosé-by-the-glass list. Get a taste of southwest France, the Loire Valley and Tuscany in picks like the 2013 Pascal Pibaleau Grolleau Rosé and the 2013 Il Civettaio "Chiu" Rosé. And there's no better place to relax than on its flowery Kenmore Square patio.

Belly Wine Bar

Amid the techie hubs in Kendall Square sits Belly, one hot hub for the wine and cheese crowd. Owner and vino guru Liz Vilardi serves up a sensational rosé wine list for summer, with two dozen options by the pour. Try the bubbly frizzanté rosé from Portugal's Bairrada wine region, a 2013 fronton from Chateau Flotis, and a number of other greats from Italy, France's Loire valley, and the Central Coast of California.
