Tiergarten Park

Created as hunting grounds for the Electors of Brandenburg, the park we know today was designed in the early 1800s by landscape architect Peter Joseph Lenné and includes a pond with boat rentals and a café at the beloved Café am Neuen See, a Biergarten at Schleusenkrug, numerous statues and monuments (including the Soviet War Memorial and Siegessäule, or Victory Column), and many pleasant corners to picnic or just relax and enjoy the lush greenery of the Berlin summer. The Tiergarten also houses one of Berlin’s zoos, a number of embassies, and the Schloss Bellevue.
