Baltimore Comic-Con: 'The Force Awakens,' Mark Waid and More

“Star Wars,” celebrities and other comic book sensations descend on Charm City's comics festival for a weekend of action-packed fandom in downtown Baltimore. We've got the scoop on which celebrities will be there.

Devotees of the iconic “Star Wars” universe don't have to wait till the next film installment opens worldwide in theaters this winter to commune with “The Force.”

Creators from the “Star Wars” comic series join more than 200 artists displaying original artwork and sketches, prized collectibles, back issues and exclusives at Comic-Con Baltimore, Sept. 25-27, 2015.

Epic fan boys and girls also get to rifle through graphic novels filled with droids with attitudes, jedi knights and everyone’s favorite wookie at the Baltimore Convention Center.

This year’s guest of honor at the convention is Mark Waid, a 30-year veteran of legendary comic publishers DC Comics and Marvel, who will be on hand to sign autographs and pose for pictures.

Other graphic novel celebrities include Edward James Olmos—“Battlestar Galactica”—and Ming-Na Wen—“Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Olmos is scheduled to attend all three days; Wen on Saturday only.

Rounding out this year’s constellation of comic universes: Captain America, Batman, Transformers, Superman, Archie, Vampirella, James Bond and even Donald Duck.
