Shakespeare in the Park

If all the world’s a stage, then get in line, because Atlanta’s popular summer Shakespeare theater event returns to Piedmont Park May 9-13. Formerly known as “Shake at the Lake,” this year’s performance takes place at the newly renovated Greensward area at the Legacy Fountain. On the calendar is “The Tempest,” Shakespeare’s final play, which stars the magician, Prospero, and his daughter, Miranda, who have been stranded on a remote island for 12 years.

Shows begin at 7:30 with picnicking before and during the performance. Reserved seats are $10-$20 per person; general admission seats are free but tickets are required. 1071 Piedmont Ave., 404-504-1473, www.gashakespeare.org
