Things to Do in Atlanta in April 2018

From refinfed Easter brunches to easy-going street fests, mark your calendar for these hot dates.

Easter Celebrations 

St. Regis Atlanta 
Held for the first time in the hotel's Astor Ballroom due to popular demand, Easter brunch begins at 11:30 am. Enjoy jazz from the Joe Gransden Band, while children can take part in craft activities supervised by childcare professionals as well as the signature “Golden Egg” Easter egg hunt. April 1

Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta
The hotel's Easter brunch buffet features more than 150 decadent choices such as prime rib, king crab legs, caviar, cheese and charcuterie plus an array of desserts. Seatings are available between 10 am-3:30 pm. April 1

Lanier Islands
A sunrise service on the shores of Lake Lanier is followed by brunch, egg hunts on the resort's lawn overlooking the water, pony rides, a petting zoo and photos with the Easter Bunny. April 1

The Mercury 
From 11 am-5 pm, indulge at this chic restaurant on the second floor of Ponce City Market with a bottomless Easter buffet of chilled seafood, lamb, ham and a dessert bar, with live music and a magician. April 1

Atlanta Streets Alive

The 4.4-mile stretch of street on Atlanta's Eastside, from Downtown to Lake Claire, springs to life between 2-6 pm with people on foot and bike. Organized by the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, this is the first Atlanta Streets Alive (ASA) of the year and introduces a new route connecting 11 Atlanta neighborhoods. Grab your friends and family, and get ready to walk or roll with human-powered amusement. A Bicycle Parade starts at 1:30 pm at the 5 Points intersection Downtown, and the streets are closed to motorized traffic (except for intersections where cars are free to cross). April 8

PGA Tour Champion Colin Montgomerie

Mitsubishi Electric Classic

PGA TOUR Champions including Kevin Sutherland, Colin Montgomerie and Stephen Ames among others compete for a $1.8 million purse at TPC Sugarloaf. Bonus: the golf tournament benefits local charities. April 9-15

Alive After Five

This perennial free festival returns to Canton Street in historic Roswell. Held the third Thursday of the month through October, the all ages can enjoy food and live music from 5-9 pm.  April 19

The annual gathering at Atlanta Decorative Arts Center attracts thousands of design professionals and enthusiasts to mingle with today’s cultural icons, including Hamish Bowles and Victoria Hagan. Register online. April 24-26 

Rick Bragg

The esteemed Southern storyteller speaks at the Norcross Cultural Arts Center at 7:30 pm about his newest release," The Best Cook in the World: Tales from My Momma's Table." There will be food, drinks and a silent auction at this free event. April 27 

Stones 'n' Bones Day

Little ones can dig into archaeology, geology and paleontology at Fernbank Museum of Natural History. April 28

Foo Fighters

The American rock band plays the inaugural concert at Georgia State Stadium (formerly Turner Field). April 28
