Georgia Aquarium is the country's largest in terms of gallons of water (10 million), square footage (604,000) and number of aquatic animals (tens of thousands). And with an expansion planned for 2020, it's about to get even bigger.

In the meantime, explore six distinct galleries explore that show what really goes on beneath the surface of the world’s oceans and rivers; highlights include giant whale sharks, elegant manta rays, serene Beluga whales, adorable sea otters, ghostly piranhas, live coral and playful Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, the last of which star in AT&T Dolphin Celebration. A 4-D movie, cafés and gift shop are also on-site. Located across from Centennial Olympic Park. M-F, 10 am-9 pm; Sa-Su 9 am-9 pm—Hours subject to change. Tickets at the door: adults $39.95, seniors $36.95, ages 3-12 $33.95, 2 and under free.
