Hurricane Harbor Makes a Splash at Six Flags Over Georgia

Get wet and wild at the new, tropically themed water park

Atlanta is too darn hot. So why not cool off at Hurrican Harbor, a new, tropically themed water park at Six Flags Over Georgia? The water park marks the largest expansion in the park’s 46-year history (seven acres, to be exact). Here, 5 things that are sure to wow and surprise:

Calypso Bay Wave Pool

Hold on to your hat: This 800,000-gallon, 38,000-square-foot, high-tech wave poll simulates the deep blue Caribbean surf. Two massive wave generators create rolling, four-foot waves in eight differnt wave patters.

Bonzai Pipelines

Three unique water slides sit atop a 41-foot tower that sends guests barreling down through 180- and 360-degree curves.

Tsunami Surge

The world’s first hybrid zero-gravity slide sends thrill-seekers down five stories to the splash pool waiting below. It all starts with a drop through an enclosed tube into a whirlpool bowl with 360-degree curves and then out into a massive wave wall for a moment of zero gravity.

Paradise Island

Kids will enjoy this 2,000-square-foot interactive playground encompassing an entire acre of Hurricane Harbor. Highlights include six water slides, multiple water buckets dumping about 2,000 gallons of water and hundreds of interactive water elements such as water blasters, sprayers, fountains, water wheels and pumps.

Lounging Around

Additional highlights include 11 relaxing cabanas and an expansive deck, plus a tropical island theme throughout. Best of all, it’s free, or at least it’s free with your regular, one-day admission ticket or a Six Flags Over Georgia season pass, which means you’re not paying any more than if you were just going to enjoy the dry rides.
