Georgia State Capitol

A National Historic Landmark, the 1889 building was designed to resemble the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Historical markers on the grounds explain how the city was rebuilt after the Civil War. Located on the fourth floor of the capitol, a museum displays exhibits about Georgia’s resources, history and government, plus quirky artifacts. M-F 8 am-5 pm, self-guided and guided tours available. Free admission.
