Atlanta in 75 Minutes

If you can only visit one attraction in Atlanta this month, make it the Atlanta Botanical Garden. And word to the wise: don’t forget your sunglasses. That’s because this month, tens of thousands of tulips and other spring bulbs—including daffodils, hyacinth, crocus and the like—will bloom in a dazzling technicolor Dutch display titled, “Atlanta Blooms: 200,000 Watts Flower Power!” On view March 22 through May 1, the spring spectacle also features giant whimsical topiaries, including a 5-foot-tall owl and a 10-foot tree. The bulbs and topiaries join swaths of existing flora and fauna such as pansies, phlox, daphne, spring wildflowers and native azaleas; not to mention a conservatory, a Japanese garden and the delightful orchid house. While you’re there, grab a bite at the newly opened MetroFresh Café, featuring fresh and seasonal soups, salads and sandwiches.

Open Tuesday through Sunday. 1345 Piedmont Ave. NE, 404-876-5859, www.atlantabotanicalgarden.org
