Amsterdam’s dynamic modern art museum, reopened in 2012 after major restoration and a new wing nicknamed ‘the bathtub’, is dedicated to modern and contemporary art and design. Established in 1895, and a state museum since 1938, its permanent collection carries pieces representing Fauvism, Cubism, Impressionism and De Stijl. Open Tues-Sun 10am-6pm; Thurs 10am-10pm. Adult €15; child €7.50.
