Established by Congress in 1976 to preserve and interpret the history of the Klondike Gold Rush of 1897-98, the Skagway unit includes a 6-block historic district in the business area. The visitor center is located in the restored railroad depot downtown. Guided walking tours of downtown, ranger talks and films, from May through September.
