Katmai National Park and Reserve

Katmai National Park and Reserve is a wilderness and traveler haven. The 4-million-acre national park is three-fourths wildlife perserve, making most of the park unavaliable for hunters and fisherman. Mount Katmai, the park's namesake, is a a tall stratovolcano that still occasionally rumbles. The park protects much of the surround, previously-devastated area surrounding the mountain as well as the nearby Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes.
