This Tampa landmark, established by Bern Laxer in 1956 and now run by his son, David, built its considerable reputation on steaks, carefully chosen and further aged in specially built, temperature- and humidity-controlled lockers. The menu also includes seafood dishes such as West Coast oysters flown in overnight and seared tuna. With the largest wine list in the world, two dozen different types of caviar, and a 65-page dessert menu, Bern's has been named the best of all steak houses in America by Wine Spectator magazine and received the 'Award of Ultimate Distinction' for 2007 from Wine Enthusiast.
