José Mateo Ballet's "The Nutcracker"

The Tallis Scholars

One of the most highly regarded Early Music ensembles comes to Boston with director Peter Phillips at the helm. Phillips has performed in more than 2,000 concerts around the world and brings a program of Classical Christmas texts to St. Paul Church for an enchanted evening of Renaissance sacred music. Known for their clarity and purity of sound, The Tallis Scholars deliver a hauntingly beautiful musical performance each time they take the stage. Copley Square Tree Lighting

Don't miss the lights all aglow at the annual tree lighting with Mayor Walsh and live performances by Boston Children’s Chorus, Tanglewood Festival Chorus and Berklee College of Music. Kids will love the special visits from Santa, Rudolph and Frosty the Snowman. And the whole family is invited to the Fairmont Copley Plaza following the lighting for continued festivities with cookie decorating and photos with Santa. Boston's Christmas Tree Arrival

The 45th anniversary of this gift-giving tradition features a 47-foot white spruce arriving at Boston Common. As a thanks to the city of Boston for emergency assistance after a 1917 wartime explosion in Nova Scotia, our neighbors to the north provide Boston with a Christmas spectacle. After making its police escorted trip from Billerica, and through the city, the tree makes its appearance at the Commons, greeted by Boston Parks Commissioner Chris Cook, an official Nova Scotian town crier, Santa Claus and local schoolchildren. Brass Polishing Extravaganza
