SF Opera presents “Carmen”

The classic opera returns in a new production from director Calixto Bieito in his U.S. opera debut. Set in post-Franco Spain, this tale of love, lust and murder features an outstanding cast and will be sung in French with English supertitles. San Francisco Jazz Festival

The 34th SF Jazz Festival brings 25 concerts to the city’s top venues, including SFJazz Center, Davies Symphony Hall and Herbst Theatre. A free festival kick-off party gets things started June 7, followed by 12 days of performances by world-renown artists and local talent.
