Harvard College Observatory's Astronomy Day

From 1847-1867, Harvard’s “Great Refractor” was the biggest and the best telescope in America, and the first thing it “observed” was the moon. These days on Observatory Hill more modern instruments have filled its role, but visitors can still explore the heavens during Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics’ special public events.
