Full Sail Brewing

Full Sail is a craft brewery that was established in Hood River, and this is its Portland outpost. They were one of the first microbreweries to figure out how to bottle their beer without losing any of its hoppy perfection, and this genius started a revolution in the hand-crafted beer world. A small operation that serves as the research and development arm, the brewery is next door to McCormick and Schmick’s Harborside Restaurant and Pilsner Room, where you can watch the team at work through a glass wall. The delicious brews perfected here are put into production at the main brewery up the Gorge (see the Day Trips chapter). Full Sail is known for its ales and lagers, but it offers a range of delicious brews—including tiny-batch beers developed and tested in the brewery and available only at the two tasting rooms (here and in Hood River).
