Portland Accommodations: Georgian House Bed & Breakfast
Georgian House Bed & Breakfast
This classic, immaculately maintained Georgian colonial home was built in 1922, and it features a winding staircase, stained-glass windows, and antique furnishings. Guest rooms have either a private or shared bath and are furnished with antiques. The lowerlevel spacious and very private Captain Irving Room includes a gas-log fireplace; the Victorian Eastlake Room overlooks the deck, gazebo, and English-style gardens, which feature roses and boxwoods and also provide a variety of berries, grapes, and kiwi for breakfast. The Lovejoy Suite, which has the feel of a bridal suite, has a queen-size brass canopy bed and a private bath with clawfoot tub. There is ample parking. Children 12 and older are welcome in the Captain Irving Room. The inn has discounts for corporate travelers and for those on extended stays. The surrounding residential neighborhood is near public transit, the Rose Quarter, with the Oregon Convention Center, and the Lloyd Center, with its mix of department stores, movie theaters, and restaurants. It’s a short drive to downtown, as well.
