Hamilton Hall
Designed by Salem’s famous architect and woodcarver Samuel McIntire and erected in 1805, this National Historic Landmark is referred to as the gem of Chestnut Street. Known for its ballroom, imported mirrors, musicians’ balcony and the arched Supper Room, the hall has been the site of many important events, including debutante balls, dinners for the heads of state, and was even visited in 1824 by French general Marquis de Lafayette. Annual lecture series February-March. Open by appointment only.
