Savannah Shopping: Savannah Scrapbooking
Savannah Scrapbooking
This specialty scrapbooking and paper crafts store stocks specialty Savannah-themed papers and die-cuts (primarily words, like “Savannah,” “Tybee Island,” “Forsyth Park,” etc.) among its vast supply of acid-free papers and embellishments. When visiting scrapbookers hear that, they’ve been known to strike out for Savannah’s Southside, where locals live and shop and tourists don’t venture that often. This shop is now Savannah’s only specialty scrapbook store, although you’ll find some scrapbooking stuff in chain stores these days. At Savannah Scrapbooking, the racks store something like 2,000 different types of paper and all the latest innovations in accessories and design aids. The shop offers free table-time (if this is your hobby, you’ll know what that means) and hosts crops into the night on occasion. Owner Jamie Danford says out-of-town visitors often attend and fit right in, and that during the day you might find a scrapbooking tourist at work while the spouse is on the golf course. Right now, the website is info-only, but she hopes to add ordering capability in the future.
